The 2024 Great Farnham Duck Race is only a few days away, on Saturday, April 27.

Once again, Gostrey Meadow will be filled with the sounds of music, families enjoying themselves, children cheering on their ducks and a great day out for everyone.

This year, the organisers of Farnham’s Great Duck Race, Farnham Weyside Rotary Club,  are delighted to announce that Birdworld are going to be a major sponsor of this splendid event.

Their expertise in looking after ducks has been shown over many years, so they are the ideal partner to make sure the famous Farnham Racing Ducks are on top form for the races on Saturday.

Birdworld’s education team has organised a challenging set of exercises using the specialised facilities at their headquarters.

As well as helping with publicity, they are also sponsoring one of the races, when the winners will get special prizes donated by them in addition to the usual cash prize.

Tickets for this race are only available from Birdworld at Holt Pound and at their stall, on Gostrey Meadow on the day of the race.

It promises to be a day filled with colour, music and fun with dozens of stalls from local organistions filling Gostrey Meadow, as well as children’s amusements, music and plenty to eat.

In addition to all the other attractions, there will be a special performance from the ever-popular Rock Choir.

The regular tickets cost £2 and there are prizes for the winners of each heat and, particularly, the final. They will be available on the day itself. And, for those who can’t wait, it is possible to buy them online at https://buytickets.at/farhamweysiderotaryclub/1192293

All the money raised will go to local and Rotary charities, and this year the nominated charity is The Woodlarks Centre, a valuable care home and activity centre, situated on the outskirts of Farnham in a beautiful wooded setting.

James Robson, general manager of Birdworld, said: “We're thrilled to partner with  Farnham Weyside Rotary Club, a local beacon of support for our community.

“As we anticipate the upcoming Duck Race, we're filled with excitement to witness the spirit of competition and camaraderie.

“Join us at Birdworld for a day of fun and laughter, where families can create cherished memories together.

“Let's celebrate the joy of giving back and making a difference in our own backyard."
