Work progressing on new ground for Badshot Lea

Steady progress is being made on Badshot Lea Football Club’s new ground in Wrecclesham.

The club - which is about to start groundsharing at Camberley Town’s Krooner Park, after previous spells as tenants at Farnborough Town, Godalming Town and Ash United - has taken over the ground in Westfield Lane vacated by Farnham Rugby Club when it moved to Monkton Lane in 2012.

Badshot Lea, of the Combined Counties Division 1, expect their new ground to be ready in time for the beginning of the 2018-19 season.

They will then become the very near neighbours of Guildford & Woking Alliance Division 2 club Wrecclesham FC, who share Wrecclesham Cricket Club’s ground on the other side of Westfield Lane.

Badshot Lea host their former landlords Ash at Camberley when their league season starts on Saturday at 3pm.
