Unprovoked attack on man in Hale Road

By Surrey and Hants News in Local People

A man was attacked and robbed in Hale Road, Farnham, early on June 12.

The man was walking home alone after leaving The Albion pub in Hale Road between 1.15am and 1.45am when he was attacked from behind at the Farnham Hospital bus stop opposite Manor Road.

He was knocked unconscious and woke up to find the suspect going through his trousers pockets. The suspect fled the scene towards Manor Road and it was only then that the victim realised that his wallet and mobile phone had been stolen.

The suspect is described as white, aged 17-18 years with short black hair and was wearing a white long-sleeved top.

Investigating officer PC Dave Woodrow said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack which has left the victim extremely distressed and shaken. Farnham is generally a very safe town and we would like to reassure the local community that this appears to have been an isolated incident. We would also like to reassure people that we are carrying out a thorough investigation and are doing everything possible to identify and find the person responsible for this attack.”
